Question by billy gateshead · Dec 11, 2018 at 01:41 PM ·

Teradici Management console - in-place upgrade to v3.2?

Hi,

We have deployed the Teradici management console via OVA as a VM - running version 3.1.2 but I notice v3.2 is now available. Is there an in place upgrade to get onto the latest release or do we need to deploy a new VM and carry out some kind of migration? We have bought 160 DA licenses so if I need to raise a formal support call for this please let me know? Thanks

Hi @billy gateshead

Teradici has removed Management Console 3.2 after a bug was found that prevents uploaded Certificates from being present in the Profile.

At the moment, we do not have in-place upgrade option available to migrate to new version. New VM is required to deploy to migrate to new version of MC.

Migrating MC to newer version

Regards,

Jatinder

Hi, apologies for the delay in my reply - I see 3.2.1 has been released, so my question is now - how do we migrate from v3.1.2 to v3.2.1 management console? We need to retain the existing policies and profiles etc. and ideally not have to impact or refresh all zero client devices? the link you included above didn't seem to detail how to migrate from v3 to v3.x..... thanks

@billy gateshead

You can download the database backup from MC 3.1.2 and import it to MC 3.2.1 to keep the existing policies and profiles. If you keep the same network settings in the MC 3.2.1 after powering off MC 3.1.2 then all zero clients will report to new MC without clearing their management state.

If you want to change the IP of new MC later then you can clear the management state of all the zero clients while clients are talking to MC with OLD IP and rediscover the clients after changing the IP address.

Regards,

Jatinder
